Skeleton View

Skeleton View

The Skeleton View feature in APX allows you to clearly and cleanly visualize the entire skeleton structure of a 3D model within the preview window. When enabled, all bones and their connections are rendered in a simplified manner, letting you focus solely on the internal movement structure without distractions from the model’s mesh or textures.

Use Cases for Skeleton View

  • Quickly analyze the skeleton hierarchy of complex or externally imported models.

  • Verify correct rigging by spotting any disconnected or misplaced bones.

  • Inspect the bone hierarchy to ensure every bone is properly linked to its parent and children.

  • Visually preview motion transfer between bones without influence from the model’s surface details.

Features of Skeleton View

  • Displays the full skeleton in a clean and simplified layout.

  • Customize line colors and thickness to enhance clarity within the scene.

  • Helps quickly identify rigging or hierarchy issues.

  • Particularly useful for working with advanced rigs or complex animated characters.

Practical tips

You can quickly toggle Skeleton View on or off during your work to compare the animation between the simplified skeleton display and the full model view.

Use Skeleton View when importing new models or encountering animation issues to ensure everything is correctly positioned.
